Craft Afternoon
Although the priority of my trip to India was to train the team, the secondary priority was to get to know all of them and get them working together as best I could. Half my suitcase was filled with scissors, paint, pens, brushes, sellotape and anything crafty I could get my hands on really so that they could all create websites without a computer in site. I even flat packed my own cardboard website so that it would fit in my case!
This was the second time I had run this session after running it in the UK earlier in the year, so I was confident with my pitch, but not necessarily with how the audience would react. Luckily after a quiet start everyone really got into it and started screaming, shouting and laughing for the whole 2 hours.
All in all I think the Indian guys were even more creative than those onshore. I can’t wait to run this session again to a completely different group of people.
Below you can find the video I made to accompany the little demo during the first part of the presentation. It isn’t that good on its own and far better looped as a kind of background visual thing. Mainly because it all goes so fast but then slows down as I look confused at the end before going right back into the production process again.
I edited the video while on the way home on the plane so it all went a little melancholy. Although it starts off a little sad, it does end relatively happy, like all good stories really.

Hi Tim,
I have just spent far too long on your website! You have some fantastic ideas! I really like the way the activity above draws out ideas without the need for a computer. I bet you get some great ideas from these sessions.
I am also a big fan of your cardboard car. Are you able to flatpack it for easy storage? I bet it makes parking easier.
I recently finished with Roadshow Entertainment, project managing the build of their new consumer website MyFunDVD in Sydney. Things like this (your website) keep me sane whilst looking for work!
